a hackney taxi is stationery in the left hand with hazards on, i come along in the right hand lane when the taxi just starts to do a u-turn and smashes into the side of my car, and is trying to blame me.

i could not possibly be driving sideways! or maybe if i was goin a bit faster i would of been out of his way?

who is to blame?

i had no witnesses no one stopped they just carried on driving!
this isnt the first and wont be the last time this has happened with a taxi
It's a good idea to carry a camera in the car - one of those disposable ones is ideal. Pictures are hard to dismiss.

If you had a picture showing the taxi across the carriageway and your car facing the right direction there would be no point in the taxi driver trying to avoid blame.

You have damage to side of car, he has damage to front offiside wing. Proves he drove into you. Sounds like he did not see you. Did you suffer any injury, loss of earnings etc. if so sue him.
his fault!!!! if what you say is true what happened, and as a rule you never admit fault even if it was your fault and you know it even if it makes you look stupid at the scene saying it wasnt, thats what he is doing he has lots at stake, the truth will come out when the insurers inspect the vehicle
