renault master van

i recently bought a renault master. Thing is there appears to be a rear window demister button. Ok, nothing strange, accept I don't have any rear windows! This van was bought brand new and i cannot see the manufacturer putting this in unless there is a purpose for it. Checked the manual and it says nothing. Anyone any ideas as to what the button might be for? It has exactly the same symbol as a standard rear demister in any car

On my Ford Connect the switch with that picture does the rear windows and heated wing mirrors. Like you, I have no rear window, so it just heats the wing mirrors.

Many 'standard' vehicles have cabling for items found on more premium models as it's more cost effective to install all the wiring for every device on the production line, rahter than wire for specific models. Similar situation with your Renault - cheaper to install the switch than have it taken out, as some models will have a rear window.
