Clio starting problems

A follow up to my Clio not starting!! AA said it needed new starter motor, had one fitted, £120. 6 days later exactly the same thing happened, car wouldn't start. AA said this time the terminal to starter motor had corroded so replaced that. Maybe I didn't need the new starter motor after all??
Anyway, left work today & car was reluctant to start, 4 attempts & then it started. However, this time it was turning over just not starting, unlike before when there was nothing. Now I am hoping that todays glich was due to the damper weather & was just a one off. But if not what could cause the car to turn over but not start?
Any advice much appreciated.......

You probably did not need a new starter as the cause was just the corroded terminal.

If the starter is turning over the engine but is only starting the engine intermittently the most likely cause is a dirty TDC sensor.

Join this forum and enter TDC sensor in the search box, it will tell you how to clean it or renew it, new one about £30
