Driving W/o Due care and attention

I got pulled over back in Feb for Driving too close to the car infront on a motorway and now i am being summonds to court. The Policeman doesnt have anything on video, and says he didnt a Stopwatch test to calculate the time/distance i was behind the car infront, he also did this while he was in lane one and me in lane four! i signed a statement to say that perhaps i was too close but can i contest this in court? it was/is the first time i have ever been stopped and almost felt bullied into signing these sheets. the summonds also has a description of the incident that is partly untrue! where do i stand and what can i do?! what fine/points am i looking at or can i opt for the driver competance course as it is my first ever offence? thanks

Hi, I have driven thousands of miles on the UK Motorway networks, the carnage i have seen because of tailgating is unbelivable, Whilst i was in a HGV with good forward vision due to the height of the lorry we could foresee bumps before they happened, Take a bit of advise from a person that has seen deaths because of tailgating, JUST DONT DO IT. yes, before you say it, HGVs do it as well, All I can say to that is, Are they experienced???????

Have Your Say

With road tax hikes hitting those with 2001-2006 registered cars, would you consider selling up and buying a pre-2001 model to escape the the tax mans wrath?

Yes

No

The hikes don't really bother me
