Next time you are sitting in a stationary queue caused by 'Road Improvements' carried out on your behalf by your Local Authority..........which thanks you for your endless patience, do *not*, for the love of God........think about this !

And we've still got potholes created by the snow and ice!

Perhaps the government ought to consider 'out-sourcing' the Highways Agency to the Japanese ?
Road Improvements? Like repairs after last winters freezing snow and ice? Yeah that's down for planning, might get to it in a year or so.
you have a very good point there jack :) However, I think they'll be rather busy for a while.

Well done them
Hang on now, that may have just been a short section.

I have no doubt that if a similar short section of the M25 collapsed, the Highways Agency would have it repaired inside six days.

Why do we insist on running ourselves down? This is a great country.
Get them over here! We've got some very disruptive road works that have been going on for what seems like an age. The few times I've been daft enough to forget and not take an alternative route I've not seen very much in the way work on going on. Do we really need to have a disaster to get people to pull their fingers out.
I imagine the same would happen here under those circumstances and I imagine the Japanese sit in in queues the same as we do in ordinary circumstances.

It was probably a vital link for the Japanese, it would have happened here for sure.
Don't give them ideas

Hopkirk - Much as I would like to agree with you, I'm afraid I can't. They wouldn't even have sorted out the 'double-bubble' for working through the night by the end of day 6 over here......
Well said Hopkirk!!
My OH does a lot of road repairs. They a brought in to repair the work of the pot hole fillers.

I cannot believe how much money the councils waste on filling in pot holes. Why don't they just get someone in to do it right to start with.
UK Health & Safety wouldn't permit our road workers to 'glow in the dark'
damn those japs are good little workers!
