Rear windscreen screen loose

Got a Mazda 3 and when i close the boot door there is a rattle. The rear glass moves a little in and out to touch. Its a bonded window but is there any way i can use sealant and a very thin nozzle to re-stick it?

Have full comp insurance and understand i can claim for front and rear windscreens, but as the windscreen isnt damaged (just the seal is damaged) would i still be able to claim? And also, if the windscreen repairer accidently breaks the window on removal, as i understand can easily happen with bonded screens, am i covered for a replacement? (£850 or something equally ridiculous!)

If you can manage, it is possible for you to remove the rear screen but you have to be extremely careful Pike, you can either use heat gun very very careful or boiling water a bit at a time, use a small trowel or the likes, are you mistaking the rattle with something that has dropped between the innards of the back screen? before you (IF YOU START IT) go into depths take the plastic trim off the rear door from the inside & check that it's not a screw that you can hear, if you cannot get your hand down enought use a magnet.

Some insurers Snags, you have an excess to pay, what's the point.

I'd rather pay the excess on a professionally fitted complete new rear screen and seal and save my time/avoid the hassle of doing what you suggest in your post above.

A word of warning , do not open your drivers window at speed or you may find the heated rear window could fly out , It may only be held in by the electrical terminals !! if you ring around and go with a reputable local windscreen repair company you should be able to get it done for about 40 + vat just remove and refit with trims re used if applicable, if you go with a large national company that advertises a lot you can double that at least but it will be at your risk whoever you choose , Not a job for the man on the street to be honest as you need primers and poly urethane that are up to the job but none the less a straight forward job to someone in the trade ....... ring around and get some quotes for a remove and refit .........
