Yes, but he is only pointing out what we all knew already.

I would not be surprised if ISIS are part of the people smuggling rings too - as an additional fund raiser.
How is Britain leaving the EU going to stop hordes of migrants leaving Africa, Nigel? It isn't simply a question of not being part of the EU migrant policy
If the Mediterranean was as shallow as that argument the boat people would not need to fear drowning, indeed they could just walk across :-)

// How is Britain leaving the EU going to stop hordes of migrants leaving Africa, Nigel? It isn't simply a question of not being part of the EU migrant policy // If we leave the EU we will be in charge of our own borders. Simples!
It isn't as simple as that of course
We are already in charge of our own borders. Illegal migrants are no respecters of such niceties.

//Is this Nigel Farage MEP speaking as a spokesman of the EU? //

Why does it matter in what capacity he is speaking.

//We are already in charge of our own borders. //

No we are not, the ECHR, of which we are stuck with being a member of the EU, continually overrides our deportations.
In addition all these migrants, once they have EU status, will simply pile over here. Many of them openly say their target is soft Britain.

// We are already in charge of our own borders.// You have got to be kidding, or you are living on another planet. The EU dictates about borders & at the present we are not allowed to have borders.
whiskeryron Leaving the EU will not stop the hoards of migrants at Calais or the 10,000s crossing the Med. In fact it will probably make it worse, France and other EU countries will have even less reason to to stop them. In fact I would not be surprised if they saw us as a 'dumping ground' and encouraged them to come here.
The Royal Navy if it was still rescuing them would likely be told ''you are not part of the EU so it's up to you to rehome them in the UK''

It's time to post the army along the coasts.
The Scots say that the English are racist and that they welcome immigrants, so are they going to take their fair share?
No-one can get at Nige over this because he is stating the obvious. Someone has to say it, however, and I am glad he has.

There is a problem that if we leave the EU, France will just let migrants through. If, however, we are in charge of our own borders we could take any necessary measures to repulse them.

This is ridiculous, I am sounding war-like - and I'm not, but being forced into considering unpleasant action to safeguard our own. Horrible. I hope someone clever can come up with an answer.

PS On the QT whilst we are occupied with this, Putin has been active - tears hair, rends clothes and wails.....
