Absolutely, it feels so futile at times, keep at it!
Are you registered with any Employment Agencies, excel?
As Chumbawamba said:

I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down

Chin up Excel.

hello scorpiojo

i am registered with a local agency - and when i leave my current job in august, they will be sending me to places to work

in the mean time, i am naturally looking for jobs by myself
Question Author

thank you, maggie
Yes, keep going excel. My son is looking for an IT apprenticeship before he starts college in September. (He will give up the college place if he manages to get one). There seems to be so much competition, but good luck, you'll get there xx
what are you looking for, excel.....if you had a blank sheet, what would be your ideal job (realistically)
Hope I've not offended you, excel. Just meant registered as well as looking yourself :)

Sorry to hear that, its tough out there at the moment.

Good luck
excel I've got my fingers crossed as you know. here's hoping.
keep bashing on exc xx
Methyl is right. I have a friend who works in recruitment (sales, if you're interested, excel;-)). She looks at hundreds of CVs a day and decides within seconds how far to read. She has helped adapt my son's CV. You also need to use "buzz words" because many employers just search for certain phrases or words. I'm happy to ask her, if you want to say what you're looking for. It's very competitive out there, but you're a kind, intelligent man. You'll be snapped up soon, I'm sure.
