I realise I'll probably be criticised and castigated for this question, however ....
It's impossible not to have read in the press the recent events surrounding the parents of Madeleine McCann, their removal as suspects in their daughter's disappearance and the release of the Police files, however, what I couldn't believe when I read it was an alleged quote from their 'spokesperson' stating that the McCanns were 'considering legal action against the Portugese Police' ....
Am I missing something here, or didn't these educated people leave their children alone in a hotel in a foreign country like unwanted guests so they could swan off for a meal with their friends in a bistro which they claimed gave an ideal view of the childrens' room (albeit we now know that isn't the case) only for them to find later than the unspeakable had occurred ?
Please don't think I'm emotionless and, as a parent, I can't imagine any more of a hell than the McCanns are going through, however, what seems to be forgotten here is that Madeleine's parents are, by no stretch of the imagine, entirely innocent in the circumstances surrounding their daughter's disappearance .... THEY left their children alone .... and now THEY are 'considering legal action against the Portugese Police' ....

i do agree with you. i've only started leaving my son on his own when he was 13 and that was only for an hour after school until i got home from work. i find it unacceptable that two educated professionals did this and seem to have got away scot free - if it was some chavvy single parent, don't you think they would have had their kids removed from them (and quite rightly too!). i can't even begin to count the romantic meals, girly nights out and other evenings i have missed because i am a responsible parent - it is hard to feel truly sorry for them, considering the circumstances in which she disappeared and unanswered questions madeleine's parents keep sctum about...
In hindsight we can all be 'perfect parents'. This couple are agonised by the horror that has happened to them. No one can watch their children 24/7. Look away for a second and a child can be snatched by a stalker.
How can any father leave his children in care of his wife while he works for fear of the same happening in his absence, or vice versa. Everyone of us has to leave their child, if only to put them to bed in a separate room.
The Portugese police (PP) were negligent in handling this case and deserve to be sued. Remember they refused assistance from our detective services initially. I hope the child's corpse is never found but if so, woe betide the PP, they're aware of that too!

I cannot feel sorry for them. I just feel hatred for them. I always will. They were selfish and neglectful parents and they now have to live with themselves. They deserve to suffer for the rest of their lives and I hope they do.
Terambulan, how can you compare putting a child to bed in a separate room in your own home with putting your babies to bed in a separate unlocked building 100 yards or so away and across a road from where you are eating and where you know you can't even hear them if they call out to you.

I cant understand how u are so heartless at this unfortunate couple. Of course they want to remain in the media until their child is found.....they have no alternative, they are desolate. How do you know they dined 100 yards away, it was across from the pool but even I wouldn't venture an untrue measurement.
My only concern is the fate of the poor child, bereft of her parents, I can't imagine how painful that must me. How can u believe the McCan twins would be better off in care........they are thriving with the parents and the rearing of them is what keeps the McCanns sane.

The least you can do is look into every little girls eyes to spot the unique eye marking of Madeline. Especially as ur all travelling on hols at present......

I wouldn't wish any harm to you or anyone in your family but accidents do happen and the McCanns are paying the price of not using the child-care facility in an up-market hotel. They thought all was safe between them and their friends checking....they were proved wrong.
You can be sure they're suffering for it. And your dislike for them is not worse than what they feel for themselves........but it doesn't help Madeline.........so the search must go on to finalty. We Brits do not give in to kidnappers.

But the McCanns are doing what they are advised to do.
As for children being snatched from their beds......there was a case about 2 years ago of a little girl who was so snatched while her parents were at home. It was in UK.
I lost my son in the high street when he was only 4.....I was paying for goods when he disappeared. It happens.

he sounded exactly like gerry mcann.
i dropped my basket and walke doutside

Were ur kids with you in the supermarket Legend? It looks as if u havent finished your sentence....or maybe I'm wrong.
As I understand it ur in the Canaries? If I'm right......that's one of the places Maddie has rumoured to have been seen. If ur children are around the same age she could be in the same school......only you can check out that area?
