This excelled itself tonight with stupidity. Kiitcar type ambulances, dummies spurting blood, sick and pee. It's only on because OH likes it but even he says it's rubbish. How do they get away with it?

Daft lads playing with big toys, what could be more fun than that? Wish I had their job though.
When I go on holiday abroad I tend to go to a different country. I don't go to lots of different countries.
Absolutely hilarious really enjoyed it. Just don't think of it as a car show and enjoy!

"How do they get away with it? " - get away with what?
Slapstick, actually quite funny if it was a little puerile. I agree that the format will not sustain itself. That drive in the bog-standard Vauxhall by whoever it was behind the wheel was quite impressive. Lewis will be back for another go!
Tora I think you've hit the nail on the head -as a sketch show it has its moments -as a car show its just plain annoying.
they sell the actual show and the format all over the world, rakes in millions for the BBC, it is estimated that without TG the licence fee would be £10 more. So don't watch if you don't like but stop moaning it's saving you money, many people love it. who wouldn't want their jobs eh?
The TG franchise is worth 100 million to the BBC why would they stop that???
Who says it should be shelved? Each to their own,the BBC has the thankless task of trying to please a vast spectrum of tastes. If you don't like it don't watch it .
As a piece of entertainment it is an easy-watch for an hour on a Sunday night. Its harmless fun.

I'm always surprised when the mirthless amongst us choose to single out Top Gear and nasally whine about how crap it is, or silly it is, or that Jeremy Clarkson is a pillock - as has already been mentioned, if people don't like it, they don't have to watch it. Many many people do like it, so to condescendingly dismiss those that do is incredible arrogance.
As a petrol-head I'm a big fan of top gear BUT it is getting a tad silly as they try to out-do their own antics. Rounding cows up in ver expensive cows? Mmm .
ha ha....
expensive CARS
I think Jeremy Clarkson is very funny.
Jeremy Clarkson, for my money, is the funniest writer writing today. His two columns in The Sunday Times are worth the price of the paper alone.

///Top Gear was BBC Worldwide's biggest-selling TV show internationally last year and – alongside its fellow mega-brands Doctor Who, BBC Earth and Lonely Planet – helped earn more than £200m in revenue and more than £40m in profits.///

DeskDiary...I agree.

I have books of his columns...brilliant holiday reads.
I do not watch Top Gear but I think the time has come to try & educate the UK Drivers the causes of unnecessary accidents / crashes caused by Stupidity, Eg, the main cause, travelling to close. accident on Motorways should not happen & they don't happen but caused as you will have seen yourself, if there is a crash you have the Ghoules that have to LOOK TO SEE if someone is dead or a badly injured person is to be seen, the Viewers ratings give Top Gear a high number, so I'm sure the team instead of acting like a bunch of over paid clowns could do better educating the driving public.
well they once had a serious motoring show and it died.
You could always watch 5th gear :-)
Sorry, I couldn't resist!
