At the end of the month Oct.I'm having eye surgery (Vitrictomy) I'll be awake throughout the op which I'm told will be approx one hour plus.
As you can imagine I'm pretty nervous. The surgeon has said I can take a CD in to help me relax (something soothing)
So hense the title what soothing CD would you reccomend for me?
(No headbanging or Rap please) even as a joke.

I had some eye treatment recently and found the time passed very quickly, but I think I was less than an hour. I'd probably chose the radio to be honest. Its not too taxing but takes your mind of things with a mix of music and discussion. I wouldn't take your favourite music otherwise you might associate it with the hospital forever more!

Good luck, I hope it all goes well.
Stranger on the shore by Acker Bilk !!
Difficult to say Jem I would probably take a Robbie Williams one but then I'd be tapping my toes lol (keep still MrsAsk). I do like some classical. I haven't seen the CD out yet but 50 shades of Grey have a classical CD out. There are some nice soothing ones on there. If you look on one of those online sites it tells you the titles.
James Taylor hits album Jemisa, nice and mellow. Probably miss out "You Can Close Your Eyes" till they're finished your procedure though. :)

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I would have a cd packed full of familiar and much loved favourites that I could sing along with (in my head, obviously).
Dean Martin, Val Doonican, Louis Armstrong, Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra, some hits from the musicals perhaps, a bit of Motown to keep me upbeat, Everley Brothers; Telly Savalis singing If.. and Elo at the end.
How about an audio book? Perhaps a very familiar tale such as Wind in the Willow.

The Dark Side Of The Moon, Pink Floyd, that'll chill you out Jem

2nd choice, Bob Monkhouse 1001 jokes cd ;o)

Maidup, I can't take a radio into an operating theatre it would have to be steam cleaned and steralised. No no I think not.
I think there will be 7 others (nurses doctors students)in there too so I've got to think of them too.
I was thinking along the lines of Semprini or Mantovani & the like.

Classic radio comedy cds. Round the Horn. Hancock's Half Hour. Just a Minute. Educating Archie. Hinge and Bracket. It's That Man Again. I'm Sorry, I Haven't a Clue. The Goon Show.

Anything by Kenny Gee, my little foxy friend, but this track is very soothing.

Though, Jem get as much sedation as they will offer you.

Wow Den that is nice, I don't think the surgeon & co will be too perturbed by that. Sedation hasn't been mentioned but I'm going for a check up nx Friday so will mention it.

Lady J. Thankyou you're kind.

Mozart clarinet concerto?
Hope all goes well, Jemisa.
If you don't ask, Jem, you don't get. To me it makes common sense to offer sedation, especially if you have had heart surgery, surely a relaxed patient is better all round.
Concierto de Aranjuez?
Look out for anything by Eric Whittacre, his music is sublime, will try and post link but it doesn't work for me for some reason
if it doesn't appear in youtube slot it's not for want of trying, or opens. Look his music up if not, as it's quite beautiful.
