Names for babies in 2023 - apparently Harry, Meghan, Holly and Phillip are all falling in popularity.  But the supposed sources of these names will be long gone from the public eye by the time the babes are old enough to appreciate their names.

A friend's first grandson was named Toby.  Pasta's cat is the only other Toby that I know of.

It was said, back in the days of the 80s, that Diana and Kylie would become popular names. Didn't happen.

Phillip hasn't been popular for decades. 
 

I know the old names are coming back, but I can't see middling names like Carol, Gail, Janet, Darren or Brian coming back.

What surprised me in Turkey was the number of boys called Miles / Myles around the pool.   All roughly the same age, mine plus three others with that name.  Given that he's the only one in his school with that name it came as a bit of a surprise.

It's literally a trend /fashion thing. Lately I've found that most people I know with newborns either go for the ultra trendy, or the old fashioned. Nobody seems to go for the in between names like mine lol.

My older grandson is Toby. I read somewhere that the older names are reappearing, there are a few that should stay away. My dear mum was Beryl but I really can't see that finding favour now.
