....about Karen Danczuck. Some on here had no sympathy for her, despite the fact that she claimed to have been raped. Compare that to people who claimed that the same thing happened to them as young footballers. Some people are very fickle.

Really?

You cannot really compare the two.

Danczuk comes across as not very likeable, and the football victims are mostly unknown to us.
Also, women being raped has long been dismissed as it must have been the womans fault for wearing the wrong clothes or being drunk. Homosexual rape of young boys, in contrast, is demonised and considered far more terrible.

Actually, they are equally abhorant, and the victims should be treated equally, not themselves put on a media trial.

She was 9 when the abuse started. Very sad, but I don't understand why you are raising the matter again, Clarion
I'm with hc, why are you raising it again? And why are you comparing the two?

Who exactly is being fickle?
Having reread the other thread (which I posted on) the majority of responders were sympathetic - the OP was the main one casting doubts.

......and the majority?
You don't have to like someone to feel sympathy for them. Most people supported her.

I've had a look at that thread and the majority DO sympathise with her.
So our replies didn't meet your standards - sorry about that.

Based on what I know about the young woman (nothing) I did my best.
