how to pause the video?

hi i have a panasonic SDR H20, does anyone one how to pause the video on this? i tried to pause it using the recored button,but it stops and saves the video.

After selecting and starting Playback, if you press the joystick, a 'control' image should appear on the screen. It shows that if you press the 'Up' on the joystick, you'll pause the playback. Page 55 of the User Guide shows this.
After 5 minutes in 'Pause' mode, the image will go back to the 'Thumbnails' view.

To pause recording, you simply press the Start/Stop button. The 'Pause' symbol (two thick vertical lines) will appear on the screen in red. Once it turns green, you are in paused mode. Press the Start/Stop button to start recording again.
If you stay in paused mode for more than 5 minutes, the camera will switch itself off.

when you press the pause button, is it suppose to start recording from the begining?

No. It carries on from where you left off.
