Hate This Time Of Year
34 Answers
Last year on Christmas Eve the ceiling fell in where the immersion had been leaking. Then my GSD died a couple of days later. Tonight was cleaning my fridge (as you do on Christmas Eve when you don't 'do' Christmas) and the door fell off. Now off to bed and going to turn the phone off so all those well meaning people don't text or message me first thing in the morning.

Can’t even order another one till Friday and I have to go because it’s in my name - so I will have to get a bus and probably walk to the garage (and my sense of direction is shocking) where I will have to fork out £120 plus vat because he has no sense of *** responsibility. It’s like having six kids with the oldest one being the hardest work (sorry for the rant, but do feel a bit better now).
My daughter had come up with twins from the south for the week. They have got a holiday cottage about 15 miles away from me. Sadly, I have just been diagnosed with cataracts in one eye so, find it very difficult to drive in the dark. I can’t stay the night and so have to leave them all by 15.30. Not good :,(
Tony, because we appear to live in the *** Middle Ages there are only two ‘local’ auto locksmiths in the area - one’s machine has packed up and the other will also charge us for coming from Worcester. The BMW garage is actually the cheaper option - on the upside, we have key insurance so we can claim it back (that’s a thought - I could claim for a taxi!).
Just remember lankeela there are lots of people like you in the real world. My only concern at Christmas is that I get through it without something dreadful happening, when most services are unavailable. Like you I hate this time of year and love the day after New Year's Day when things get back to normal.
