we have a front venting tumble drier, so no hose to contend with. It fits within an adapted kitchen unit within the utility room. When in use we leave cupboard door open and switch on extractor fan / open back door. No condensation issues at all.
You get a hole put in the wall once, then no more regular messing about.
Vented - no effort at all required. If it's cold, we stick the hose out of the cat flap.
I bet the cat thinks it's windy on wash days.
Think of the cost when using first could be over a pound a time
weecalf - I really don't find that. We have an electricity usage monitor which shows how much power we are using, and it rarely goes into the red zone when the tumbler dryer is operating. I think that's a fallacy, certainly in my experience.
puzzle...what make is your tumble dryer?
If you're on a water meter then a condenser is good for collecting water for watering plants.
I've had both over the years .I prefer the condenser which I have had now for about 15 years .It's a Whirlpool ,never gone wrong .It's no hassle to empty the water container .Light comes on when it's full and I just pull it out , empty it and slot it back in.I never dry full loads of wet washing in it though .Prefer to line dry as much as possible if the weather is ok and use it mainly just to finish off and soften up .
shaney, that is what I want to do...
I suppose it depends where you want to situate said dryer .Ours is out the back in the sun room next to the washing machine .I call it the sun room when in reality it's a sort of catch all room ..lol.I keep an airer out there too .
Then I just put the washing on that if it's still a bit damp off the line ,it drys over night then I finish it off in the dryer .Too expensive to run it all the time .
Mr S would be waving the leccy bill under my nose :)
I don`t have a problem drying and airing in the winter when Central heating on but in the summer,I dry best I can ,on maiden etc.(if weather wet) but need to air it off...hence the need to buy a tumble dryer. Many many years ago,I had a small one,a Jackson, which had a filter in the door..no hose or water department ...very simple it was...gave it to my daughter...next thing...broke!!!
I rarely used it ..but she was drying stuff from wet...eek!!!
