The reason I' m asking is because Mr Tilly has developed one on his chin and he has to go to the 'freezer clinic' to have it removed.

Tilly, you've reminded me that there was an advert in The Irish News not so long ago asking for 'a charm for a wart'. I don't know if they got any answers or if they did if the charm worked.

Yes, sandy, it is. Mr T went to the doctors yesterday and he has to go back to the surgery to have it done.

Seriously though, I've had verrucas removed using the freezing method. Makes you claw the ceiling during the freezing but that doesn't last long.

I got a skin tag burned off, it hurt like hell but it eventually died and fell off.

When my grandson had a wart on his hand I offered him a pound for it. Gave him the pound and said I definitely wanted his wart. It disappeared a few weeks later. Get someone to buy yours Sandy.

There's a ghost story, Casting the Runes by Montague James, where people try to pass on bad fortune to somebody else. If you bought a wart as a favour to somebody how could you be sure somebody else would buy it from you?

I had a wart on my thumb some years ago.
An Army Medic applied some zinc oxide and an airtight dressing. It disappeared in a week.
