I want to do out my bedroom with some contemporary wallpaper on only part of the walls. What are the general best rules here? Should I paper one wall and match up the other 3 with paint? I don't want the whole thing papered - eyesore!!

I quite agree but so is a wallpaper wall with a painted wall. Do what I have done, and use two complimentary papers - makes the room look so open.
Just back from decorating my daughters flat as it happens -she has a feature wall in both her lounge and bedroom with contemporary wallpaper Lounge- brown and turquoise and bedroom aubergine, turquiouse and cream paper -she has the 3 walls in each room cream- looks stunning.

Drisgirl it is the brown/turquoise look I am after; cream is a superb idea - I was looking to blues but I think you have cracked it for me. One in paper, 3 in paint, right?
