How ridiculous! He lightly touched her elbow.
I'm more bothered by his use of the word 'slippy'. Surely no one over the age of 5 would describe a carpet as slippy.
I think it's natural reaction.
think she really needs to consider a stick now...and a no steps/stairs rider

I am sure that I saw the Spanish King give Betty a quick peck on the cheek recently....they might be related though !
Why at that age, doesn't her Equerry be by her side to carry out the duty of supporting her in such hazardous situations, as in this case negotiating stairs?
If he had thrown her over his shoulder and carried down the stairs that might be overstepping the mark ?
it would be a worthy story if he'd goosed her ...

The queen didn't look too worried, what would they have said if she had fallen?
