IVY

can anyone please tell me how to get rid of an ivy, it has climbed way up above our reach during our holidays, is there something i can put on the growing stems, or can i cut them in midstream and put something on them.?many thanks for any help.

if you cut the stems then spray with "ivy killer" a spray available from garden centres, or if nothing else is growing nearby pour neat cheap bleach on the roots, its a lot cheaper than "root out"
Once you've done as 'baza' suggests wait for the ivy to die and go brown. Much easier to remove then and causes little damage.
