How do you clear out cooking smells from the night before (specifically garlic) without using air freshener etc to mask it?

a saucer of vinegar is good at getting rid of smells. If it can work on cat urine, it can work on garlic! ;-)
Even quicker. A teaspoonful of baking soda, two tablespoons of vinegar, two cups of water. It'll fizz. Once it stops, put it in a spray bottle and use it as an air freshener. Smell's gone.
