I stopped for a while some years ago. Sitting at home I thought I was having the DTs when I started seeing rats out of the corner of my eye. I needn't have worried. When they started gnawing through the floorboards I knew they were real and not a figment of my imagination.
You're right, of course, Ummm. It is when you stop that the hallucinations start.
