Yes...it's not bad actually.
Yes I use it quite often for a quick fix, its ok if you put some butter in it and give it a good mash its ok not the same as spuds but it does in an emergancy
Question Author
Thanks ummmm. Will give it a go.
Question Author
Thanks kendra. (Your reply wasn't there when I started typing to ummmm).
Been using it about a year now Mrs C, we like it. Being as there's only two of us its quick, handy and tasty. For a big family it would work out a bit pricey. My Grandchildren love it and call it Nanny's special mash.
Give it a go.

Thanks jem. I'm having a bit of trouble peeling spuds (arthritis) so I'm hoping to find a good substitute for the "real thing".
I didn't have enough spuds one day so got aunt Bessie's as the spuds in the shop are crap. Mashed the spuds I'd got and topped up with Aunt Bessie's (did taste it first) everyone loved them...and I pride myself on my cooking skills :-(
Question Author
Tony, I've never fancied trying Smash. Aunt Bessie's mash is proper mash, frozen into patties, apparently.

Smash is tried, powder, yes? Does it taste comparable to the real thing?
Question Author
I love AB's roast spuds. IMO they are as nice as the real thing.
Question Author
Sorry tony ..... substitute 'tried' for 'dried'.
Smash has improved loads from years ago. I had a craving for it when I was pregnant...tried it more recently and it tastes much better now.
Aunt Bessies roast potatoes are horrible, I make far nicer ones myself, my oh would throw a fit if I tried to give him Aunt Bessies or any other frozen brand
Question Author
I love 'em, daffy. They cook really quickly too.
I don't like the roast potatoes...
isn't the mash on delia's cheats list? never tried it myself as we rarely eat potatoes of any description, although i do keep some aunt bessie's roasties in the freezer.
We prefer Mr Mash dried mash, £1 for 2 sachets from Farm Foods - it makes up really well and it tastes good.
Just a thought........how difficult is it to make mashed tatties?

Peel
Wash
Boil
Mash

Man's job, joeluke ;-)
