.....with salad cream and a sprinkling of crisps.

An evocative lunch, just need some Wham on the radio and I'll be back in the '80's.

What food takes you down memory lane?

Sorry but cheddar and salad cream were meant to be together.........

I'm with you Eccles. Nothing quite like a cheese sarnie with salad and/or salad cream.
In fact, what i remember most is sitting outside the pub in the rain, waiting for my dad to come out. Always with a bottle of coke and salt and vinegar crisps
And jacket potato with cheese and salad cream- perfect!
Egg, onion, mayo s and black p with crisps

I wouldn't dream of dressing my salad with salad cream but a cheddar cheese sarnie with salad cream is the work of angels.

Fine memories of the bottle of pop and a packet of crisps, my parents were obviously posh as I got to sit in the car whilst they were in the pub. I didn't get wet and my Father never got knocked for drink driving..... :-/

Can I have some of Fluffs roti?

I'm in the kitchen surrounded by spices and stuff but no bread is happening..... Lots of other lovely stuff is being brought together though.......

Can't wait for tomorrow we'll be having a feast!
My dad once drove home, because he was too drunk to walk
(don't try this at home...)
Chips from a van. :)
Tinned salmon salad followed by tinned peaches with tinned cream.
Apple sandwiches (no, really).
''A Cheese Salad Sarnie......''

The most unimaginative sandwich known to man. Closely followed by ham and mustard.

Memory lane for me: scrambled eggs on toast.
Trifle. Haven't had any for yearsssssss......

Snags, I did have celery, radish, carrot, wet garlic and ramiro pepper in my CSS.....surely that demonstrates a small leap up from the usual (boring) lettuce, cucumber and tomato???

I never ate scrambled egg as a child!

My favourite sandwich as a kid was cheese and Heinz tomato ketchup and I still occasionally have one
Oh and sugar sandwiches were common in my childhood, with loads of butter and sugar. I could never eat them now!!
Question Author
Never had it as a sandwich, but I do recall ketchup on toast.....it was jolly nice!!!
We use to have a cream cracker cheese sandwich, I loved them.
I still do that Marvel, quite regularly!!
