fresh mackerel

the fisherman who lives next door has given me loads of tiny fresh mackerel fillets.
I'm not sure what to do with it though!
i love smoked mackerel - is it possible to smoke your own?
I could then make a pate with it?

I've seen TV programmes that show how you can smoke your own food, but you need to build the smoker. I'd guess if you searched the Net there'd be plans for different models. It didn't look difficult but is obviously some effort, so you'd need to expect to use it more than once, or it'd just sit in your garage or shed.
Smoking your own is quite easy - just look up 'fish smoker' on Google for loads of links on how it's done.
I'd freeze them now though, while you research, so they don't go off!
