Pulled pork

Does anyone know if there any chain pubs, etc that do meals that include pulled pork? I want to try it but don't want to go to the all the faff of actually making it myself in case I don't like it. Thanks.

It's very simple to do. I would rather have it home-made than have it in a pub chain where I doubt it would be very good. I use pork shoulder and score it, rub a mix of dried spices, honey, olive oil and garlic over it, leave it for at least 4 hours to develop the flavours and cook quickly for 20 mins to get some colour, turn oven down and cook it for up to 8 hours. It's delicious and if you like pork you will love it.
Sorry it didn't answer your question though! lol
sherrard it is easy to do and so many variants to the marinade; for example vodka's but I use maple syrup instead of honey, some chilli, chipotle and even a splash of Kentucky Bourbon and mustard go into the mix. Only takes about 20 min prep and then the occasional check and after a searing cook long and low. You don't have to do anything at that point......
Yep chilli/chipotle is a must. Spicy is good! lol

Thanks for all of your answers. I am not adverse to cooking but wanted to try it first to gauge if the brood would enjoy it.
my young ones did - and my bbq pork ribs...similar marinade, bake the ribs for 1 hr low temp and then switch off the oven and let them cool i- and onto the barbie with more of the marinade.
If you're anywhere near MK, sherrard... http://www.percys-delivered.co.uk/

Their pulled pork is amazing!
Oooh Whisks, do you think they would deliver to me in Edinburgh?? ;) xx

Sherrardk, in Edinburgh we have a shop called Oink who do amazing pulled pork and they have a stall at the weekly farmer's market. Do you have a farmer's market near you? You might find a stall there. :)
I live in MK Whiskey, I must have a look at that, thank you.
That was a bit mean of me to flaunt it, wasn't it, v&c? ;) xx

You must, marval! I'd been dying to try it for ages, and then we got told at work to order whatever we liked for our training day lunch on Friday just gone. I tried everyone's, haha! The pastrami lamb and the pulled pork are the best two. Enjoy! :)
Thanks Whiskey I wll try them.
If tey like pork, they can't (imho) fail to enjoy it! Simple supper with rolls, stuffing, apple sauce - I tend to add a little sage gravy to mine to keep it moist whilst on the tea light burner/server thingy. Serve a few mini roast spuds with it too for extra treats. Much better than any pub you will find!
I think i want to go and live with Echokilo......
Why do they call it pulled pork? who pulls it? I've heard of it but never seen it.
Ah thanks Shoota - bless you x
thanks mamya, still doesn't explain "pulled" :-(
When its ribs are tugged out through its rear? Honestly, I do not know!
It does - it means slow cooked meat, so soft it is easily pulled apart by hand.
