Duck with Plum Sauce

Hi everyone,
I have bought a whole duck that weighs 2.138kg. I've been told I have to cook it on a rack above a tray to let all the fat drip off. However, when and how do I apply the shop bought jar of plum sauce to it. If I apply it before cooking, will it not drip of with the fat?
Thanks,
Del

The plum sauce isn't cooked on the duck, you serve it with the duck after the duck is roasted.

Oh, that makes sense. Do i heat it in a pan or pour it over cold straight out of the jar? Cheers.
if you are going to have it like they serve it in chinese restaurants, they shred the duck then roll it up in a pancake with cold sauce and spring onions/cucumber
