I feel like this is abuse

http://chng.it/h4wnKdgRRK

The chap has since left the Love Island villa, but because he is still in love with his ex, not anything to do with this petition.

Is it not abuse and bullying to start this petition about this man?

In the petition the lady "Amey C" has said "He has proudly posed with an array of dead endangered animals including warthog and water buffalos"

Neither are endangered so this is spreading false information about someone.

The petition got 40,795 signatures

I feel sorry for this chap. Two people from Love Island have killed themselves in the past due to public scrutiny and coping with the public. Yet this woman is allowed to start a global petition to publicly scrutinise a young chap to the point that you want him exiled from the show.

If I had a change.org account I would report this petition for defamation, cyber bullying and spreading defamation.

No its not bullying nor abuse. This guy makes money from killing animals for sport. Some people abhor the killing of animals for sport and as such have the right to a voice.
Ditto and that picture of him with that beautiful dead animal is abhorrent ..
I'm afraid when one agree's to go on such a TV programme, one should be aware of the arena into which one is entering. Lie down with eejits / be prepared to be branded an eejit.

It's only bullying if he feels threatened or intimidated by the petition.

It seems a bit of a damp squib now that he's apparently left the show.

"Some people abhor the killing of animals for sport and as such have the right to a voice."

But that is not what is happening. She is publicly calling for him to be exiled when he has not broken any laws. Imagine if this petition was about you, a young man, when there are 100's of old rich men who are more of a problem.
I think you're in danger of being offended on his behalf here, TD (the worst of all snowflake traits, according to some)unless you can prove he's in the foetal position crying his eyes out somewhere......which I doubt.
Where can I sign ??
The Devil - Exiled! LOL! this is a silly reality programme that this year is not even set on an island. He's not being made a refugee you know. You must be really bored to day -such an nice day for gardening too.

HereIAm, AuntPollyGrey, I take it you are both vegetarian / vegan then?
As usual, this pointless entertainment delivers publicity in spades to itself by encouraging its audience to hit the net and spout nonsense.

Fortunately for the programme makers, the people who watch it, and take seriously the lives of the people who appear on it, are one and the same.

This is the result.

If the gentleman in question feels bullied or intimidated, it is for him to seek redress.

I suspect that someone who shoots dumb animals and then brags about it, probably lacks the sensitivity to be 'bullied' by the rantings of anonymous strangers.

At the risk of swerving the thread off-course with some velocity, can you clarify that observation please?

Andy why is watching real social interaction on the TV any more "Pointless" than watching a load of men kick a ball from one end of the field to the other?

It's not. Do try not to be rude now about what people find entertaining.

I personally think reality TV is 100000 times better than any staged and poorly acted scenes you would see on TV soaps.

"can you clarify that observation please?"

Yeah. Like Ollie is the biggest issue regarding hunting? You still have people fox hunting in the UK, prestigious people also. You have people who hunt endangered animals, you have people who hunt illegally.

Ollie hunts legally, he hunts animals that are not considered endangered by any means.

Why start a petition about him? In the hunting world, he is a gold fish compared to some sharks.

This proves the lady "Amey C" is just trying to signal a virtue, trying to cause a ruckus , and why at the expense of a young chap?

It's evil.
TheDevil - // Andy why is watching real social interaction on the TV any more "Pointless" than watching a load of men kick a ball from one end of the field to the other? //

It's not, which is probably why I did not say that it is!

// It's not. //

I know it's not - that's why I did not say that it is.!!!

//Do try not to be rude now about what people find entertaining. //

I'm not 'trying', I think you'll find I am succeeding!!

It's just an opinion, I'm not insisting everyone likes or dislikes as I do - nor would I prevent their negative opinion on the viewing that I enjoy.

// I personally think reality TV is 100000 times better than any staged and poorly acted scenes you would see on TV soaps. //

I don't watch either - but good for you anyway!!!

I think your comment on it being pointless was a bit obnoxious.
TheDevil - // "can you clarify that observation please?"

Yeah. //

Great, thanks.

// Like Ollie is the biggest issue regarding hunting? You still have people fox hunting in the UK, prestigious people also. You have people who hunt endangered animals, you have people who hunt illegally. //

That's true, but the larger offences of one person do not mitigate the offence (and I use that word in the moral, rather than legal sense) of another.

Most murderers kill once, they don't get a swerve when a serial killer pops up and trumps their total.

// Ollie hunts legally, he hunts animals that are not considered endangered by any means. //

That does not mean that his actions, and his apparent willingness to boast about them, do not cause anger and reaction in a large part of the population - who are entitled to express those feelings.

// Why start a petition about him? In the hunting world, he is a gold fish compared to some sharks. //

Because being a 'goldfish' who kills animals does not make you better than a 'shark' who kills more animals - your comparison is utterly invalid.

// This proves the lady "Amey C" is just trying to signal a virtue, trying to cause a ruckus , and why at the expense of a young chap? //

You are absolutely right - she is talking nonsense and reacting in an OTT and inappropriate fashion - but it's entirely in keeping with the vacuous behaviour of the subject of her ire.

This 'young chap' is a self-aggrandaising buffon, but he is also a functioning adult, not a child.

If he wants to big himself up by being pictured with animals he has killed, and then appear on a pointless ego-massaging paranoia fest in the name of entertainment, then he is old enough to accept the consequences.

Behave like an idiot, you tend tyo get treated like an idiot - that's the way the grown-up world works, and if he cares to act his age and join it, he will realise that.
TheDevil - // I think your comment on it being pointless was a bit obnoxious. //

I can think of a thousand things without effort, that I find obnoxious, but I can't be bothered to defend my view on reality TV, and the obnoxious people who populate it, so we can leave it there.
Is it bullying? Well, I've taken a survey of water buffalo, warthogs, and gazelles and have come back with a overwhelming no vote.
TheDevil - // … watching real social interaction on the TV …

You might want to ponder the veracity of that observation, when it's applied to something like 'Love Island'.

For a start, it's not about love, and it's not set on an island!!!!
