....I'll be glad when they stop lighting them.

My dogs are going barmy - all 10 of them.

PayPal.... ....I'll be glad when they make the service better....

3 days to transfer money from PayPal to my bank account, what is all that about? Because of the slow transfer time I had to ride 17 miles to a appointment today as I had no money for the bus - SHOCKING!

Nice little rant over :) how are we all diddling?

Dizmo - I don't think we get fireworks here in NI for 5th Nov - Halloween was a nightmare for Mr Harv.

Just curious Diz - what animals do you have now - do you have any small ones or docile.
Not had any fireworks yet, even I am quite surprised by this! I live in a large Essex town.

They are all smallish. We have two new recruits who have been mistreated. If you saw the state of her mind you'd agree that the previous owners should have someone bad happen to them :/ We know Minnie has spent all day everyday for years (she's 10 now) in a cage. She has been so bored that she spent all her time spinning around in circles all day. The vet has prescribed diazepam for her to try and help but it isn't doing a great deal.

Tina is a nice little pooch; I wouldn't say she's docile though. I've got to get some better photographs, when I do I will upload them.

Had a few Whizbangs already tonight, Dogs being ok so far, have the curtains pulled at the back where most of them are coming from, if we get a Rocket out the front it's most likely a Distress Flare out on the Estuary.

The fireworks have been going off every night (and at 8am this morning) since Halloween. We live bang next to an industrial estate so you get 'kids' lighting them near the industrial buildings.
You're a kind person looking after those wee dogs. Awful for that wee one locked up in a cage. Really don't know the mentality of these owners. They should end up in a blo0dy cage.
Question Author
I've just seen the pun there; 'bang'.
We have fireworks going off here. We have no pets though.

Agreed! The excuse the person gave was terrible. They said they were made homeless where in actual fact we know they were not made homeless.

Years ago my friend was suffering with depression. He took a real shine to my sister-in-laws (SIL) dog, Molly. I joke by saying to my SIL that my friend would steal her if he could get away with it. She kindly offer to let my friend have Molly. Years and years on she is still with my friend and I know for a fact that if he was made homeless he'd take Molly with him and make sure she was fed and warm. I've known him to spend his last £1 on her for food when he's not eaten for 2 days - NOW that's commitment to an animal. I respect him so much for that.

....and that's another reason he's my best friend.
Dizmo - do you hold high hopes for a little dog who has been scared in its past life - to get better.

Question Author
JJ: The way I see it is that if any dog, or animal, (no matter what age) doesn't get better but lives a better life than before, without suffering is a positive thing. She may never stop spinning, she may never be removed (Minnie), but she will be looked after. We only take dogs on that we fully accept may live out their lives here. 8 out of 10 dogs (reminds me of 8 out of 10 cats lol) will die here after living out their lives. They are fed, walked and kept warm. I don't really think I can, or need to, say anymore.

?removed? I mean *re-homed, not removed.
That is lovely Dizmo what you are doing.
Loads here for hours now, waiting for a big organised display to start right by here so I think it's going to get very loud very soon though they seem to have turned the music down a bit.

I don't know what people are burning but smells horrible, like burning plastic or something, went to do a wheelie bin count a bit ago!
It hasn`t been so bad here this year. There are a few going off but they are not terribly noisy.
Ive never had an animal that has been worried by the fireworks. I dont make a fuss of the dogs/cats, I don't even look at them when a loud banger goes off. I'm sure a lot of animals feed off their owners nervous body language and overreaction
Question Author
AlwaysConfused: Agreed. Unfortunately for us all of our dogs have severe behavioural problems. We don't really know what the previous owner(s) have done when their dog(s) have been faced with fireworks or the sound of them. I suspect given the fact that 50% of our dogs have been attacked by their owners that one can only image that when they bark because of fireworks they get an even bigger beating.
when I transfer money from my paypal to my TSB account it's instant,
