Wednesday. I'm a bit late this morning. A mate's car wouldn't start so I gave him a lift to work in Gloucester. He says he can get home OK.

A bit warmer this morning. A clear sky so far, so it should be a nice day again.

I got the hedge done! at last!! It looks a lot better now. I can forget about it for a year.

Have a happy day everyone.

Windows today, also making the pudding for Friday. Mosel wine jelly. It has lots of grapes in it which have to be halved, so it takes some time. Some bits of tidying up, then it's all done after the workmen.

how's you this morning? :o}
although the pain in me hip woke me about 3. haven't been woken by pain for ages and ages and ages.

Couldn't you use liquid grapes instead? lol

Hope you haven't overdone it by doing the hedge.
the first part vanished...
All's fine thanks Boaty

blooming technology!
Question Author
Liquid grapes are involved albs! ;o}

It'd fiddly, but since Mrs 'ooman is lactose intolerant it rather limits puddings and, indeed, starters. I've worked out three lactose free courses that we can all enjoy. :o} I haven't made this pud for about 10 years!
Morning Peeps :o)
All quiet on the Midlands front here. Jet black outside and no birds about yet. hound dawdled this morning as he had a really good run lastnight at the park. Can't wait for the working week to be done with, off to the Three County's show this weekend in Warwickshire (lots of gardening type things to drool over and ideas to collect).
That jelly sounds nice boaty - I tried a multicoloured layer jelly a few years ago from a victorian recipe. Took forever to make but was worth it :o)
I feel sorry (not quite the phrase I'm looking for, but it's early) for those who are lactose intolerant or coeliacs or peanut allergy etc. they've got to be so careful.
oooh, Peas, sounds good!
Are you staying over for the weekend?
Question Author
Morning peas. xxx I used to like the Three counties show. A long time ago now though. I used to make layer jellies for the boys' birthdays when they were little. Always a favourite. This one is alcoholic! :o}
Question Author
At least I know she will like the main course albs. Pork steaks poached in cider and jacket spuds. ;o}
wot the heck is Carol wearing? It's worse than the lighthouse dresses Boaty!
You do realise that you'll have a bunch of ab'ers on Friday for dinner too? :D
Question Author
Haven't seen her yet albs. I shall have a wee squintie, so I will. :o}
Nah, just going for the day with a coach load of welly-wangers (allotment people) (and yes, I did take the 'what is your mental age' test and it came out as 67! lol, true)
It rained last time I went so hoping for good weather as a lot of it is outdoors, and the drive there has some lovely scenery. Will be taking my camera :o)

If I remember rightly, the Low Carbohydrate diet has some great recipes for people with intolerances (not lactose though) so if you're ever stuck for recipes just google that xx
Question Author
Well we have had 36 in our back garden! :o}
Question Author
I have plenty of recipes, but thanks for the tip. I will make a note of it. You never know when it will come in handy. :o}
