Hi, My wife had a beautiful dark haired little girl this morning and both are fine. We're after 3 names, as the other kids have 3 names and are open to any suggestions. Unusual or classic are fine, preferably something to reflect our roots, my wife being Jewish and me being Irish.Open to any suggestions really as we hadn't thought much about girls names since they thought it was a boy:)

Congrats to yourself and your wife noxlumos. Some nice irish names are Laoibhse, Naoise (pronounced Leesha and Neesha), Aoife (pronounced eefa) Ciara, Orlaith (Orla), Sorcha (Sorica)

Nuala Rebecca

Nuala is a lovely Irish name and Rebecca is a classic Jewish name

I have no suggestions for names but having only just seen this thread would like to offer my congratulations to you both and wish your little one a long and happy life.

Congratulations!!! Since I was a little girl, I always said that when I grew up and had a daughter of my own, I would call her Laura, which I did, 16 years ago and I still love the name! It's also one of those names which suits young and old.

Elanor Grace

How about Eimear (pr: rhymes with dreamer)? You won't find a more Irish name than that! Also a bit of a story behind the name - See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eimear

Hope this helps and many congrats on mini-noxlumos! Do enjoy her.

My friend had her daughter on the 2nd of April and named her April lol. She has dark hair and it really suits her.

Congratulations to you all! I've always loved the name Amelia and also Melita which was my great grandmothers name. I also used to go to school with a girl called Ysanne which I think is a lovely name also. Happy picking!

congrats to you both I love the name Betsy I was going to call my daughter it as a first name but thought it old fashioned and named her Elli-Betsy instead I wish I had of because Elli is too popular. I love the name Reece for a girl too good luck on the naming.

Congratulations!Feeling quite smug in my lovely quiet house. Leila has always been my favourite name and it is not so rare it seems odd but not so common that it is boring.Lili ia also very pretty

Hey, congratulations! I don't have any kiddies yet but still love thinking of names! I think for the Irish side Siobhan and Niamh (please forgive my spelling!). don't really know any Jewish names but the ones posted here are all lovely! For something totally different I went to school with a girl called Beshlie, it's a small yellow flower. Always thought it was a beautiful name...

Congratulations! I gave both my children very simple names, easy to spell and unlikely to be shortened. As a teacher and from my observations - variations of names and different or unusual spellings cause a lot of frustration for children. For
