Left over beef stew and dumplings for us this evening, we started it last night and did way too much ! I like the sound of your chicken dinner though ..
being taken out by friends for late birthday meal !!
Question Author
Beef stew and dumplings is seriously good comfort food, hereIam.

Belated but nevertheless thoughtful, Minty.
Five bean cottage pie, and a pile of steamed green veg. Greek yoghurt and blueberries..... That's my five a day sorted....
Question Author
Rowan, you are putting us to shame with your dietary virtue. Funnily enough my OH and I are both keen to explore more veggie options when cooking at home. I might start with a curry...
Butternut squash, sweet potato, butterbean make a good mix. Chuck in some cauliflower and coconut milk and any curry spices that take your fancy. You might need to open a window or two
I told my friend to wait a bit 'till the" silly money period " was over...too much is eaten over the festive season as well , will be much more appreciated now !!
Question Author
I'm not keen on butternut squash but I like the other things, Rowan. I like aubergine and spinach too.

Good thinking, Minty.
Had houmous, olive and arabic bread. Was going to have duck but that's for later now.
Question Author
Now that sounds tasty, 237. I do love hummus, I could eat it by the bucket load, and Arabic bread sounds just divine.

I might do a middle-Eastern style leg of lamb next week with some pitta and hummus and stuff ... she says, moments after pledging to eat less meat and more veg ...
I dragged the houmous back from the middle east. Remains of a room service meal - they gave me so much I asked for a pot to bring it home in as it was a shame to waste it. Their houmous is much smoother that ours as they put more tahini in it.
Question Author
It sounds lovely. I do like the Moroccan hummus that seems to be everywhere now.
Yes, sainsburys do a nice one. I tried making houmous once but it wasn't worth the hassel. It spattered all around the inside of the blender and I spent ages scraping it off. Easier to buy it. I did make moutable once though and that worked out well.
*moutabel*
LCj, add cauli florets & whole ladies fingers to ur curry = delish.

Boring Chkn kiev here :(
Question Author
I'm not so keen on cauli florets. I like it pureed with butter and cream though and baby G loves it.

Now, I must go and google Moutabel...
Spinach is always good in curries
Question Author
Ah, so it's a spicier version of baba ghanoush. What's not to love?!
Boiled cabbage, roast chicken, roast potatoes, stuffing, gravy, just had it, was delish with my own cranberry sauce

I love hummus, I make my own, plenty of tahini paste in it
Yes, it's basically baba ghanoush with tahini.
