Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Yet again xstitcher has come to my recuse with ideas for a theme. So here are a few suggestions, obviously the interent is filled with all sorts of stuff so I have stuck with the diabetes.org site.

Here are some great suggestions for breakfast:

a light lunch:

and a main meal:

the recipe chooser is really easy to use so why not have a look yourself :-)

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

great news guys all down so far :-)

xstitcher I have been posting on here for a few years now, including doing this thread, under the guise of Ed but we decided it was time for a separate persona.

this is probably why I sound like I know you all because I do, in the best possible way though.

I'm so glad Auntie, that you have come out of the closet, so to speak.......we need an Auntie figure. Thank you.
Just for your info we are going to Spain to hand over the house to a son and his family. We leave on Sat and are away for three weeks. The reason I'm telling you is because the last time we were down our Wifi connection was mostly not working despite several visits from Telefonicá so I might not be able to be in touch with you while I'm away. Don't envy me, packing and dusty legal offices are no holiday....poor me!

Have a successful move xstitcher and if nothing else, think of it as a workout. I'm sure you'll lose at least 2lbs moving all those boxes!
Thanks to all. I shall indeed think of it as a workout!
I have been to asda this morning and I walked past the cakes but at the bottom I saw tiramasui's picked one up and put in my trolley . I felt so guilty I put it back .so that's one thing I won't have to confess to on Wednesday .
Good for you Wendilla. I can see your halo shining from here.
Well resisted Wendilla; proud of you.

I had a good day today which made up for yesterday when I gave in to a piece of lemon drizzle. I was out of my normal routine and had half an hour to kill before a meeting. The cake and coffee drew me into a cafe and I ate it as if it wasn't really me doing it! Never mind I did have a reasonably long walk back to the work!
I think you have just brought up a key word Maydup. I have also noticed that I'm tempted to over treat myself or just eat something stupid when I get out of my ROUTINE. I'd like to hear if the others have noticed this too and like me it hasn't really registered that we are out of our routine when this happens. Being forewarned is a great help.
I was trying to drop a dress size in three weeks (I think it's around 10lbs)
Over half way an five lost about 2lbs
It's not easy is it;-/
Hi Ric.ror
Here at Onwards and Downwards we don't recommend quick fixes. By experience we know that they only lead to quick and all too often mighty gains.
We advocate healthy eating and give support to each other. We share any weight loss as a triumph of will over matter because as you say it isn't easy. We find out about new products and treats that won't send the scales spiralling up again. A slow loss of about two pounds a week is much easier to maintain and the new dress size will fit until you go DOWN another size. Good luck.
Thank you X
Just got weighed
Lost 0.9 lbs in two days
Not bad eh
Every little helps
Going the right way Ric.ror
It's strange. Of late I seem to be getting an almost acceptable reading on the Friday/Saturday, but by Wednesday it seems to be up again to the can't be believed level. Even so it is stable (ish) at best.
This is nothing to do with weight loss but you might be interested. Two weeks ago, I bought a 'waist twister, body sculpture thing' and both Mr T and I have used it for five minutes, morning and night, for the last eleven days. I have lost 2.5 cm from my waist, 2cm from my hips and Mr T has lost 4cm from his stomach.

Not bad going.

Oh Tilly you did make me laugh when I looked at it. I'd fall off the thing so now I'm sure that you're MUCH younger than some of us
I'll put it in another section if it's not appropriate, xstitcher.
