Have to say a special THANK YOU to xsticher for those yummy recipes last month and thanks to maggiebee for the humorous poem.

March is a tough month, it can be easy to be good in January and February after the excesses of Christmas but keeping going can be tough.

Do you have any particular motivation tips we can share?

Here is last months thread

I keep thinking about the Ed's question of motivation. One good motivator that I think is VERY important is all of you. Your support and finger pointing when needed is very helpful for keeping on track. Thanks to the faithful few and onwards and downwards...it seems we have all been very good this week, so let's keep up the good work.

Theotherhalf You have lost the same amount as me and same weight and height but I will never be size 12 . I am comfortable at 14. but do want that other stone off or near . I found out that bread put my weight up and by completely cutting it out in the mornings I use french toast with my boiled egg that I get at Tesco and just have the odd roll in the day but I am retired so I don't need sandwiches in the day. So that helps to keep me off bread.
I very rarely eat bread now. I will have the occ salmon sandwich (my favourite ) We always had toast after cereals in the morning but now very rarely have cereals or toast. My eating habits have really changed for the better. Im happy with what Im eating and do try to change menus around and not stick to the same things but am fed up of being on this yoyo scale

I know I`ll never be a 10 or 12 again and am quite happy being a 14 clotheswise but its the weight I want to shift for health reasons
Maybe this is where you are going wrong .It is most importand to eat breakfast and this is maybe why you are snacking. I alternate my breakfasts. Boiled egg 2 to 3 times a week .Bran flakes the other days and I always have bacon and egg on a sunday that is one of my treats. Then at lunchtime in the colder weather I have soup and now maybe salad with tuna or any left over chicken. evening meals mostly chicken and fish with vegs. Then a yogurt.
I do have meat when the family come for dinner . I will have the odd chinese meal. It a vicious circle but when I stick to it I lose weight and when the devil kicks in I don't.
TOH.....Its ok, reading so many posts gets confusing. You are probably at a 'plateau' where nothing happens for a while. That's where a lot of fall down and start sneaking titbits. You are doing so well, its my dream to be a size 14.

Ive just realised I must be at a plateau as Im not losing anything! And I never sneak anything......ever lol.

Seriously hun you are doing amazing.......like others here.......proud of you, you will win this battle
Thanks Lillymoon, you have made a good start though and thats important. I dont have many snacks ( SW syns ). I have a good BF everyday. Either fresh fruit and yoghurt and honey with a boiled egg / or beans, tomatoes and mushrooms or /grapefruit and chopped oranges.
Lunch at work is usually Jkt Pot salad and cheese or fresh soup and salad

Main meals at home always include a salad or jkt pot or rice or pasta. Im not really a meat eater. Havnt been for about 30 years.

I will get there, but its just taking longer than I thought, with having lost so much in the first 6months
Thanks TOH.....yes a good start, but my willpower is sadly lacking.

I have a Q, are calories the same as kcals? I have Lloyds pharmacy nutri scale. It gives kcals, sodium, carbs, cholesterol ect for each item of food. I just weighed a Digestive biscuit and it said it was 72 kcals!!

Surely thats not right? Is it?

If kcals are not the same as cals how do I find out what each kcal is worth? This mightmean I have to do maths.............groan......

Thanks in anticipation.
Lillymoon have a read here this might help you to find out.
