I lose a little extra weight in the winter.... all those healthy soups and unbuttered wholemeal bread, porridge for brekkie and more cooked meals with veg,,,

That's fairly handy for you Rowan, you're clearly one of few!

I've been trying to avoid bad things, but people keep taking me out to dinner. It's very unreasonable of them.
Haha "People keep taking me out to dinner". Lucky you! :)

I find winter a bit of a nightmare, as I just crave stodge! I'm loving this weather, and rode to work this morning. I'm doing no carbs until Christmas now... which was fine until someone brought cakes in! (I resisted)
Thanks for the new thread Ed.
Bacon pea and lentil anyone....
Dear AB Editor,
I am quite willing to take your place when you get a dinner invitation. I know I am incredibly generous but I will suffer this in silence!
This will be due to the fact my mouth will be full of food.
Ed if you stick with the sacred vegetables and sausages you will be fine...

Gavmacp - you're very kind!

"I find winter a bit of a nightmare, as I just crave stodge!"

Me too. It's impossible. Also, it's too dark to get out on the bike in the evenings, and running just doesn't burn the calories quite as efficiently.

"Ed if you stick with the sacred vegetables and sausages you will be fine..."

This is true, but difficult to find peace with.
Dark evenings I can't go out walking so the wii fit will get a hammering if I don't get diverted into killing germans as indiana jones
Yup. The dreaded dark evenings are a horrible, and no good for riding.
I'm trying to fit in as much running as I can, before it gets too cold and Jack Frost makes an appearance!
Hello everyone, I'm still trying to get back to my goal weight (that I achieved some time ago) I have three pounds to lose to get back there. I had a long weekend away and had full English breakfasts; I'm hoping that the walking about that I did whilst away, would have burnt some of that off. I don't think I eat different food in Winter. I'm going to try to have my evening meals earlier, so there's more time to burn it off before I go to bed.
Good Morning All, Well nothing good about it as I am up 2 lbs. I know where the blame goes and need some advice here. Lately I have had mega problems sleeping but find that getting something to eat does the trick. It also puts on the weight. So any tips for cracking these sleepless nights will be appreciated.
Onwards and downwards.
Xstitcher.... its what you eat overall that matters...perhaps have a very small snack at your normal evening meal time and have something like cereal or a small sandwich before you go to bed... same calories/points/ or whatever just at a time that suits your body clock. Not sleeping has been linked to weight gain so you wont be any worse off and might find you lose again... maybe a little more slowly but its the overall trend that is important after all

Can't hurt to try anyway
Good Morning all when I remember to get new batteries for my scales I will get a true reading but still says staying the same.
I think these months are the best for losing weight as you can make your own soups eat plenty of veg. I know it is not so good for going out walks but just have to be careful . I need to get motivated to get that stone off.
Lost ⅝ths of a pound, which is pretty disappointing given that I hardly ate for two days on account of getting what I believe must have been food poisoning.

(Now here is a puzzle, probably to do with insufficient cookie control from the site. How is it that I can unsubscribe from a thread on the home PC, subscribe to a new thread, and yet when I look in on the work PC it's the old thread still subscribed to ? Ought subscriptions be an account thing rather than a cookie thing ?)
Ooooooh too technical for me OG but hope you solve your problem. I would have also thought you would have gone down more after your bout of food poisoning...how horrible...hope you are feeling better now.
Cheers. About 97% ish I'd guess.
Very pleased and surprised that I have lost 7lb this week! This means I have now lost 2st 10lb. It really gives me incentive to keep going when I have such a big loss, although I have to confess that I really didn't eat much at all for a couple of days when I wasn't feeling too good. Onwards and downwards!
Wow Jan, that is just terrific, well done you! I know what you mean by it giving you incentive. I seem to have lost the plot lately but am trying to get myself focused.....have done well today. Somedays I'm just not hungry and today was one of them. I still eat my meals of course but don't need much.
Any how keep up the good work Jan. Onwards and downwards.
Thanks xstitcher. I have found recently that writing down what I eat and planning meals ahead have helped keep me on the straight and narrow. Good luck for the rest of the week and hope you find the plot again.
