I'm planning on staying single for a while but I'm entertaining the thought of being with an older guy (no, not the ex's father) but just an older bloke in general. Any experiences of being with an older man? What are the pros and cons? Thanks

No Sqad. Just that I find the the older men are more chauvinistic and lecherous. Younger men seem more respectful to women in general nowadays. They have been brought up differently!!
why don't you judge people as individuals?

btw, my daughter will be 17 in Jan. if she brought home a man more than a few years older than her, I'd be concerned.
You are right Sara. When I was 17 I didn't like boys of my own age who seemed really silly, but like them in their early 20s. That seemed fine.

However, I fail to see how you can go looking for a partner of a certain age. You can't plan things like that surely?

If I was your daughter, so would I...........you would "nick" him for yourself

Tell me you are joking.....we have the highest teenaged pregnancy rate in Western Europe..........is that what you mean by "respectful?"
I think some of the women on here are just glad to get a date!LOL
carrust....watchit..........that is "tiger talk"................but correct.
My turn to upset the coven sqad.LOL
I don't want to generalise as I haven't been with every man in the world ...maybe there's still time? ;o)...but I tend to agree with Lottie. In my own experience younger men haven't only been interested in sex, far from it...contrary to popular belief they do know how to make small talk as well as in depth stuff...they're more accepting of you as you are (older men often have set ideas & they want you to change)...and they can cook! :o)
I am talking about the people I mix with Sqad. Only the best!! None of my younger friends or friends or my son have ever behaved like that. They are all so interesting to talk to and treat their partners really respectfully too. Nice.
im 19 and been dating my boyfriend for about 6 months now. he is 26. even though its about 7 years difference. i feel as though he wants to move faster than what i want to. that could be an issue that he may want to settle down or want something serious. i tend to stay quiet when he mentions the future including a house and stuff. so that could be a downfall.
HOWEVER, a plus is that they have a lot of experience in the bedroom!
robinia..........lofty is comparing "younger men" of yesteryear, to "younger men" of the present time.
Hello Robi. You have sons too I believe. I'm glad we think alike!!
er, Sqad, when we say younger men we're not talking teenagers....are we Lottie? :o/
I've been going out with an older guy lately, He's 76 but doesn't look it.

jem
Lofty....you live in the "wilds" of Norfolk where all "nice people" live.....just hop into Norwich and note the difference.
Was I?
sqad, you're such a bore. change the record.
Sqad. I am a Londoner!! The young people I mix with are not local yokels you know!! In fact there are more teenage pregnancies amongst the kids where I live now than in the cities. There is nothing else to do here!!
sara....I just can´t help it.......when I see that @rse in a pink thong with NoK and a heart tattooed on it...............something comes over me!!!
Robi, , Definitely not!! I found a very nice younger man on my walk with dog over the fields this morning. He was collecting up the hay bales and we had a very meaningful chat!! If I had been in my 20's I would still be up there chatting.
