I phoned up my work this morning, asking what time I had to be in....
Paul- the barman said "gosh your early to be asking a thing like that..." and told me I was in at 9am,
I was like right, one hour to get ready... only to realise 5mins later the clocks had gone back....
tut, typical me!

"i was like" why do people say that? also why do they say "and he turned round and said" as if a person has to physically turn around to speak :)
because they say it on friends and various other american tv programs, and it seeps into the language
thank god i found friends as funny as removing piles with a rusty stanley knife then :)
bob I was speaking to someone who kept saying "and he turnt round and said." After the 20th time she said it, I asked if the gentleman in question was not getting dizzy but it was lost on her.
it always is corby :)
