Why is my M&S pork pie 'not suitable for freezing'.

Is it not the same as any other meat pie?

I don't want to eat it and I don't want to waste it.

Put it out for the birds, tilly.

No! It's a whole pork pie, unwrapped and uneaten.
Was it a cheap-tat-pie, tilly?:-)
Send it to me Tilly, I long for a British pork pie.
Could be a couple of reasons they use those labels - contains previously frozen products or they think it won't taste as good after freezing.

I largely ignore such instructions myself.
Possibly because the meat has previously been frozen.

What's a cheap-tat-pie, Melv?
Not a pork pie.
One of low quality, tilly.

Khandro, you can have it with pleasure. I'll post it tomorrow.

It's a M&S pie and I forgot to put it on the table at last night's buffet. The use by date is tomorrow.

I'm going to have to eat it, aren't I?
Question Author
If M&S have started selling cheap tat pies, I have a cheap tat pie.

Do you still want it Khandro?
Pork is not always easy to freeze....let the birds have it.
I'd keep it in the 'fridge for a couple more days Tilly and then eat it. I wouldn't worry about the sell by date just yet.
It's not going to take up much room in the freezer so bung it in. When (if) you remember it you can defrost in the fridge and assess it then.

I am not putting a 290gm pork pie out for the birds!

It's a use by date, HereIam, not a sell by date. I do worry about things like that, especially with pork pies. Pork pies are funny things.

......I'll eat it for breakfast tomorrow instead of a bowl of bran flakes. :-)
Bring the new year in with a dose of salmonella, Tilly :-)
I'd still happily eat it a couple of days after Tilly, but I know we're all different. I'd just keep it in the coldest part of the 'fridge !
Tilly, have it tomorrow with a nice salad. That is what I would do...I hate waste,so always try to use leftovers where possible.
As long as it's in the fridge it will keep for days after the use by date, no need to eat it all at once, a slice a day with a little salad or a tomato, a spot of Colman's mustard or even a pickled walnut, mmmmm ! I'm on my way.
