Haven't seen anything of him for a few days now, nungate.
I've noticed he's not been around for a couple of days. Hope he's OK. Maybe he's on a trip or just in a mood.

Thanks for the answers folks.
Queen is having a bit of bother and I need to pick someone's brains and she won't let me call NHS 24 - stupid girl! But I think I shall give them a call anyway.
Yep, phone them, nungate.
sorry to hear of that, nungate.

hope it's not too serious, and that she is alright.
Question Author
Thanks Excel, only time will tell, but she's being as stubborn as a mule!
Oh love, sorry to hear that, best wishes and hope she listens tou xx
Sqad is staying away, but I am sure he will see this and hopefully come out of hiding.

Well, he is entitled to a weekend off so I won't expect him to answer. Basically the problem is she's been having pains in her lower back on the right side, and she told me that after a trip to the loo the "result" was pinky in colour. Now, there is a history of kidney disease in my family and I myself have suffered from kidney stones in the past. She is also a diabetic, whose blood sugar control in the past has not been good, I should also point out that only the week before last she had a bout of gastroenteritis which laid her low for days and affected her blood sugar levels. Since she won't let me talk to nhs 24 I have extorted a promise from her to attend open surgery at our GP's practice tomorrow morning. Definitely not been her year! Broke her toe in March, trapped her hand in the car last week, having to undergo laser treatment on blood vessels in her eyes and now this! I'm glad I didn't call her "Lucky"
Sounds like a urine infection that has gone into a bladder infection - antibiotics will help.
I was once weeing thick blood (very painful) and totally panicked. Rang the doctor late at night and he told me to come and see him the next day but in the meantime to drink loads of fluids.
Question Author
I won! She's speaking to NHS24 right now!
Score one for mum
Good. Let us know. x
This has nothing to do with her diabetes.

The lower back pain may have nothing's to do with her kidneys.

The colour in her urine may be dietary...? Beet roots.

No need to get upset ans her doctor will see her tommorow. keep us informed.
Question Author
She doesn't eat beetroot so that's not the problem.
All is sort of resolved NHS24 has referred her to our out of hours clinic we are due there at 7.20 (which is no use to me as Barca kick off at 7.00!) However I shall go with her. Will let you all know how things turn out

Thanks for all the advice and comments

Sorry?.last post.?wrong thread.
Question Author
Consensus seems to be a urine infection, and has now been prescribed antibiotics and a sample sent off for analysis.
On the plus side she went without too much protest in the end
Very good nungate, she will soon be back to normal lol, with a bit of luck.
good to know it's in hand, nungate.
thanks for keeping us appraised.
