An anaesthetist once told me that the best treatment for tooth pain was aspirin - not swallowed, but left sitting at the root of the tooth between gum and cheek. The active ingredient goes straight through the gum into the tooth-nerve, without going through the stomach, etc. He should know, he is an anaesthetist.
Warning - don't do it too often or you'll make the cheek and gum sore.
Can do the same with a clove. Soften it and press onto the area. Also don't do too often as the oil in cloves is quite strong and can cause irritation. See a dentist soonest
Thanks for your replies folks, took a couple and they have eased the pain a little, but scared to death of dentist having a really bad experience a few years ago.
that happens to me when i get a chest infection it goes up to my face and it swells up. the dentist prescribes me metradiazole for it and cleared up in a few days.
