Hi Ed thanks for keeping this going for us. Nearly dropped my cup of tea when I saw that large print lol. It does help tremendously to get ideas from others. Onwards and Downwards we go.

It's helped me too! It reminds me to be good every week. It is especially hard to be good mid-week so this is pretty well timed!

And yes, sorry about the large type! I wanted to make sure no-one missed it.

Do you subscribe to these question Wendilla? Or just pop back for them?

Couldn't get to mt SW group last night as was suffering from a bug... might try to find another group to weigh in tomorrow if there is one nearby... my scales at home show another loss but am 'weighting' until I get it officially.... Still onwards and downwards...
Am coming in quite late to this so apologies.

I started dieting on January 13th - I weighed 17st 2lbs at the time. This morning I tipped the scales at 15st 12lbs :)

The reason I have had a lot of weight loss is because on Jan 13th, I (stupidly) agreed to run the London Marathon (not realising how close it was). The furthest I have previously run is 6 miles.

Training is going well so far (16 miles completed last weekend and 8 miles this morning).

Biggest advice I can give - watch this program (if you haven't already) from the BBC (10 things you need to know about losing weight) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXFXwlNAbME - it's brilliant
Oh, we're over here now are we? Just let me hobble over on my very sore toe - dropped a casserole dish on it.

Hope you've been managing to stay off the Marshmallow peanut butter, Spare Ed ( or was that Big Ed? ).
Just realised Id posted on the older thread. Now Ive calmed down after seeing that big notice, I`ll tell you Im hoping to get my 2 stone loss tonight. Ive been very good this week so hope Im not disappointed

Hi oneeyedvic. . well done foragreeing to the London marathon with all that weight on. I used to do a lot of running, but now have a knee problem so I just do long cycle rides instead. You can go further in less time which is good, youve just got to remember that you have to go back as well ;>)

Good luck everyone

That was me, the Spare one. Will be a very big ed if I start making the stuff. I have decided to keep it secret until I hit the target weight and then have a celebratory amish peanut butter day (I think it would be good on eccles cakes?)

Probably the wrong thread to be talking about it...

Anyone else promising themselves something when they hit their target?

I originally planned to diet to wear a special wedding outfit....so need a new carrot... maybe some plastic surgery as I will need it if I lose the 9st I need to
Havnt really thought about a reward AB. Just getting to my target (which I havnt yet set) will be reward enough, but I may decide to treat myself since youve mentioned it. Depends what time of year I reach it. Maybe a holiday or a complete new wardobe.
I havnt seen any of my family since Ive started my diet and should be seeing some of them next week. I only hope they notice the difference.
I'm setting small targets at a time of no more that half a stone. If I think about how much I need to lose all in one go it just seems undoable' and I do get a bit defeatist thinking I'll never oi so why bother trying. Breaking it into smaller weight losses is less scary. As I reach each target I'll get a small reward like a new bubble bath or lipstick. Trying to get out the habit of rewarding / comforting myself with food as that's how I got the flab to begin with.

Hello, oneeyedvic. Good for you, sounds like you're making dood progress with the running. I couldn't run the length of myself at the moment.
In answer to your question Ed yes I subscribe then I see straight away new posts.
Hi ONEEYEDVIC well done I am sure you will achieve what you are out to do so please keep posting. Good luck for tonight Theotherhalf will look out for your posting tomorrow. ROWANWITCH just give yourself small targets like Yingyang has said. I was 15 7 when I started last July but I set my target for 2 stone before my Birthday in October. I made it all but 3 lbs but for xmas I got to 13 stone 3lbs. I gained 3lbs over xmas then struggled for 4 weeks to get a loss but I got there and got the 3lb xmas fat off. Now my target is another stone for easter. Onwards and Dowards we go.

Your article would have looked silly with a Jellyman Pink! We'd be happy to have an article of your plan for a VLC diet + follow-up? Really liked your contribution, it was nice and chatty while containing a decent amount of info.

If anyone else would like to contribute and article of their weight-loss-learnings we'd be happy to consider them here: [email protected]

I wish you well with your weight loss regime Rowan as I know how much it means to you. Wanting to lose 9st is a tall ask, maybe too much really but it's your Body !
You would have looked beautiful in that Wedding Dress
A bit disappointed as I only managed to lose 1 pound. I needed 2 for my 2 stone loss, but my target was to lose it by the end of Feb so Ive got a few days to go. Ive got a birthday next week and may also be going away, so Ive got to do my best before then.

Well done to everybody whose lost weight this week and just keep going onwards and downwards xx
Theotherhalf don't be disappointed it has gone the right way . Next week you may lose more that you expect. I know the feeling well when I was nearing my 2 stone loss but I got there and it took me a few weeks to get back on track after my 3lb gain at xmas but I got there. Just hang in there you will make it .Onwards and Downwards.
I'm hanging on in there - nothing radical, but still averaging just below the magic stone mark, and feeling marginally slimmer. More clothes fit, so I am working on sustaining in the first place, then inching away at losing more. I'll do it and keep it off, that way - I've lost a stone since this time last year. The new diet regime (anti- cholesterol-and-go-away-diabetes-risk) should help.
