I have just bought an Blood Pressure monitor from Lidls and tested my wife's BP and it showed 134 over 55 and would like to know if this is normal or low as the chart doesn`t show these figures? Mine was 147 over 70, is this ok?

Thanks U2.
I wouldn't worry Carlton. Mine is usually lower than that/ Last time I had it taken at the doctors it was 120/50. That's about the norm for me. Although it did drop very low when I was pregnant.
My blood pressure is regularly below your wifes and doc says I am perfectly ok so I am sure you have nothing to worry about. Does your monitor have a heart rate tester on it as well most of them do and it is helpful to know that as well
Bear in mind that these wrist-measuring devices are not as consistent as the upper-arm types; positioning correctly is important.
here's an interesting chart about blood pressure readings:

Mine is natuarally at the lower end of normal as well and doesn't cause me a problem unless it drops further for any reason then just have to make sure I don't stand up too quick :) I had mine done at the hospital yesterday before an emergency minor op and was 100/60.
My lowest, from what I remember, was 80/50. Even then it didn't cause me any problems.
By co-incidence, Which? has just tested blood-pressure monitors (Oct 2010) and the results aren't good. Only one of the wrist monitors (costing 50 quid!) was rated any good. The results from the rest should be taken with a pinch of salt - not too much , obviously - that would put your blood pressure up!

I had to see the diabetic nurse today for my annual check up, which was very good, and whilst I was there she took my BP and told me it was very good for a man of my age. nearly 77, so I can relax. Also did my flu vaccination, so alls well.
