About a week before I am due to start my period I have to go to the loo very frequently and have less control on my bladder, I have a very immediate surge of wanting to go!
Please can someone explain why this is caused?

You may have an infection, go and see doctor and he will give you something to clear it up. have you had a burning sensation when you go to the loo, could be Cystitus.

No, no burning sensation, this has been going on for years, but wondered if anyone knew the answer to this. I have sought medical advice before & was advised to stay off diet drinks as they are a dieuretic.
I wouldnt say an infection either. Do you use tampons?
Because if the tampon is up there even though you cant feel it. It makes less room for anything else so some people will go more often.
I think it's just a matter of less room in your bladder as your uterus is larger, or maybe heavier, than normal.
Hi Yasminejeff, i have the same problem but i get it the week i'm on, and it lasts a few days. No, i have'nt a clue why it happens, but i always have to know where the loo is if i'm out that week!!
