Monday. After a warm and sunny day yesterday, it's overcast this morning. I had the barbie on the go yesterday, spent most of the day lazing in the sun. The gentle wind still had a bit of a bite to it though. Oh well; summer was nice while it lasted! :o}

Have a happy day everyone.

Goodly morning Boaty xx
and to all who pop in xx

Dry but overcast here yesterday, the young albas attacked the back garden with relish which was great.

Wish my nose would stop running :-)

Morning labs. xxx A runny nose is no fun is it. At least some gardening got done. :o}

What are you up to today?
a wee bit of shopping this morning, then housebound waiting for delivery this afternoon, yay!!
Question Author
Wonderful albs. :o} It'll make a great difference to you. :o}
Morning greenies :-)
Was mostly overcast here yesterday too, save near the end. But we've had some good days of late. Hoping for a less frustrating day today. Was trying to put up shelves in the house yesterday but I think that the supplied screws are too small for the job. Umpteen times the wallplugs just pulled out :-(
Morning OG xx

Gadgets take one look at me and think, 'ok, I'll give it a year or so then go on strike' lol
Question Author
Morning OG. It sounds like the holes are a tad too big. So use bigger plugs and screws.

Apart from that, how are you this morning? ;o}
Question Author
albs, why does that not surprise me? :o}
are you going to have another try today OG?
I sometimes wonder about the things that are provided, usually flat-pack stuff, am never too sure whether to worry about things that are left over lol
Question Author
albs, there is usually something left over, or missing!
Ok thanks.
Hope all here are well.

That is a awkward point. The plugs stated 6mm. I tried that but it seemed fractionally loose. Tried 5mm and plug wouldn't go in, so all were drilled 5.5, i.e. 0.5 undersize. Never had this issue in btick before. Thermal block yes, because that's a rubbish wall material, but first time in brick. Going to have to try to enlarge bracket holes I think.
No. It was driving me insane. Can't face it yet. Besides have a visitor today and tomorrow, I was hoping to have everything tidied up for before they arrived and that's no longer possible. We'll have to ignore the problem and walk around the piles of books on the floor which took a tumble.

Tricky one mate. I think that might well have to be the answer. Or use a different type of plug. I'm sure you're aware of plugs with small backward pointing projections on them. Ideal for such problems.
oooh, a visitor, that's nice.
Ignore the books, have you stocked up on the necessary beers and such ?
Have some of those. Did look at them but they are bigger diameter again to the ones that I tried. Was concerned that the screw wouldn't touch the sides :-)
Question Author
albs I think that comes under the heading of 'Silly Questions!' ;o}
Question Author
Sod's law mate! ;o}
I have liquid refreshment available. But with two nice ancient pubs in the old part of town and a few not too distant country ones one has an excuse to get out of the house.
lol Boaty, the older I get, the better I become at asking silly questions, it's a fine art y'know
Question Author
You have it down to a 'T' albs. ;o} xxx

OG that sounds ideal to me! I have some lovely pubs here too. :o} One of which I will be visiting tomorrow.
