Hi

How do you remove tippex from a shell anorak? Is it safe to use White spirit or will it ruin the fabric?

Thanks

I'm out!
I'd suggest Tippex Thinners (probably is white spirit but I'm not sure plus I don't know if the Thinners would ruin the fabric, sorry)
I suggest looking on Google for 'removing tippex from clothing'. Loads of suggestions. Take your pick!
Tippex and similar correction fluids have been water-based for quite a few years. Unless it's very old stuff solvent wouldn't have any effect and would probably leave a mark on the fabric. I'd just try soap and water.
Mike Nesmith might know. But he's busy,
from another site:
you can use tipex thinners or if unavailable use nail polish remover. test on an inconspicious area 1st (ie. the underside of the hem). protect the surface under the garment before application. use kitchen roll beneath fabric to absorb excess liquid. dab surface of garmant with more tissue. repeat if necessary. good luck!
would not use anything solvent based to remove it...try freezing it with an ice cube...like with shewing gum...and scrape it off gently
Try hairspray and a tooth brush, it worked for matt silk paint on a dress that had dried in for nearly 3 months before DD told me about it. Couldn't believe it worked wasn't even a mark where the paint had been, hairspray takes out loads of things, permanent marker pen on a desk for one thing.
