Do you live in the past, present, or future...are you always thinking about the past, do you take life one day at a time, or are you always looking ahead to the future?

Most the time I try to live in the present but think a lot about the past and future. Thinking about the past brings pain and thinking about the future I stress. When I start to think a lot about both is when I would prefer to sleep. My body starts to get tired so going to sleep usually helps me forget about both.
As I am writing this in the present I am thinking about the future ie.what follows on the next line.
This is the next line which is the present. What I was thinking about earlier is the past. I am going to post this in the future but once I press submit, it will be the past.

To be healthy you should definately live in the present making good plans for your future I think.

If you've had a great past with a happy "darling buds of May " childhood then it's great to think about the past, but if your past has been negative in any way then aside from thinking about how you can make that work for you positively don't dwell on it.

I used to live very much in the past when I was younger and it did me no good at all.

Now I realise that I have a life that stretches ahead of me to the future and not back to a past I didn't want at the time and that now seems to have no relevance to me as the person I am today.

Cherish the past. Enjoy the present. Look forward to the future. Somebody once told me that worrying about the future is like paying interest on a debt which has not yet been acquired.

On the other hand, it's sensible to live sensibly and plan financially for the future. Nobody wants to live an impoverished and unhealthy old age.

Sadly, like a lot of damaged individuals I am wrapped in past fears, anxious about the present and fearful of the future. What's worse is the knowledge that such thinking is both pointless and debilitating.
