don't tell him
I'm guessing you were watching Splash tonight and someone did a pike dive. I know it is a gymnastics term for a jump where you have your legs and arms straight and touch your toes. Why it is called a pike jump though, I have no idea!

one of the definitions of the word 'pike' is a point, other than that the dictionaries have the origin as obscure
