good grief !!

Wonder if they'll announce how many employees took up their voluntary offer?
Very nifty, makes life easier all round.
Smacks of Big Brother - is it voluntary?
Yes.
I think it sounds a good idea.

//Employees will be able to make purchases in their break room micro market, open doors, login to computers and use the copy machine, by scanning chip,//
Couldn't they do all of that before-hand tho? :-)
Voluntary now but I bet they try to make it compulsory.
Yes of course by remembering log ins, pass codes and fumbling around for cards - this makes things simpler.

Things do move on.

Yes, it may start off appealing, but will probably get abused in the future.
It would be interesting to see if they could make it compulsory, they may have a problem.
Any new technology can be abused and has been , should we stop moving forward?
'Three Square Market, a company that designs software for break room markets, is about to become the first in the US to offer microchip implants to its employees.'

seems to me that they are wanting to get other companies to take up on their 'lead'

I know things do move on, but I'm not comfy with this.
Hmmm - wait until the hackers get to work & watch chipped people wreak inadvertent mayhem in supermarkets etc.

Twitter & FB etc are no doubt agog with anticipation of the hilarious film snippets to come. Joke. Or is it?...

Never be compulsory, but I'll bet those employees are "encouraged" to join the scheme.
Where do they install the chips? On your shoulder? (&_*)
between thumb and index finger Togo, about the size of a grain of rice apparently.
for the shoulder, it would have to be much, much bigger :-D

I too don't feel comfortable about it. It will catch on I'm sure and all these companies will benefit financially of course. Then we will be told it's compulsory for whatever reason...

My 'kittens' are micro-chipped - it is only about the size of a grain of rice. It was so small that mega-wimp Frankie didn't scream the house down when the vet inserted it.

In animals it can save a lot of heartache ie if a cat/dog is found dead on the road they can be scanned and the owner notified.
Progress, innit marvy.

I wish I could be happy and confident about it, I really do.......
