Wow, that's amazing carrust. Looks like only two chicks are feeding though and the third is getting missed out! Hope it survives.

Notice how mother (or father) consumes a lot her/himself. And isn't that another egg unhatched ?

I think they only eat the big bits themselves...it might choke the chicks. Yes you're correct in seeing an unhatched egg although some watchers are hoping it'll hatch.

Thanks carrust and thanks to the forestry officers who give them space. We have a raptor point in Wykeham Forest, North Yorkshire- a part of the country plagued with illegal poisoning by gamekeepers. The sight of a goshawk taking its prey is unforgettable.

We have the same problem in North Derbys & S Yorks. I managed to see a pair displaying in the Derwent valley this April....great spectacle.
