No but Mr. yogasun heard two last week on the Somerset Levels. :-)
22nd April on the Isle of Skye
Yep...heard the first one down in Lewes (east susex) yesterday
The Skye cuckoo is still at it - it's 20 to 9 in the evening. When it gets lighter in the mornings she starts at about 4am.................I look forward to June when she gets hoarse and goes Cuk-HuuuK !!

Hi dusty, (North Wales) our one came back about two weeks ago, feeding like hell on the paenuts, and the dope keeps pecking at the metal top of the telegraph pole outside, will they never learn?
Should have said our one must think he is woodpecker. lol.
Yesterday afternoon, although it was a bit on the feeble side. Probably a bit fed up with the Bank Holiday weather.
about two weeks ago here in the new forest

its funny I know there is a cuckoo hear but i can never see it if i try to get a photo of it by the time i get to where i last heard it is gone never have seen it yet
Heard my first about 8 days ago and now our resident cuckoo has come back and has been cuckoo-ing madly for the last 3 days!! (West Wales). By the way, I understand that it's only the male that actually calls - can anyone verify this?
Had them back for the best part of a fortnight. Spent ages watching one yesterday on the reserve. They have regular patrol lines so if you wait you will always see them! Generally along a long line of trees besides a bridle path. Plent of song birds to choose from but more likely sedge and reed warblers. The tree line overlooks a very long reed bed stuffed full of warblers.
Heard one again today (Dorset).

Hi Kleiber - It is the male that gives the familiar cuck - oo, but the female also calls with a bubbling sound. Learn something knew all the time, as I've heard this call, but didn't know who made it :

Not heard one yet - we were only saying yesterday that it is unusual not to have heard it by now.
